Bonjour!

Hello All!
Welcome to our blog.  Our intention is to post as many pictures as possible and to keep our peeps updated on our adventures while we are living and working in France.  Wine speak and tasting notes will undoubtedly be present, as that is the reason we are here, our love of wine!

First, we want to share photos of Gigondas, where we will be living for the next couple months.  Gigondas is a small town in Southern France, in the Southern Rhone wine region.  Gigondas is a hillside village of about 600 people, and located in a prime wine growing area.  We arrived a week ago, after five days in Paris and two days in Reims (photos to come), and have been busy getting to know the area.  Rob has started his 'flying winemaker' job at Chateau St. Cosme, and Sarah starts in the vineyard tomorrow.  Harvest has officially started, with the arrival of viognier grapes for the Cotes du Rhone blanc, with more grapes for the blend coming the rest of the week.  Should be a busy harvest!

Salut mes amis!

Wow, vintage already! I think I'm still getting over the southern hemisphere one. Gigondas looks beautiful and I look forward to seeing more pics. Have fun!

How's your employer btw?

Great pictures and glad to see that you made it safe. It is beautiful there! We look forward to more updates. Don't drink too much while you are "taste testing." That small town better watch out. It was great to see both of you in St. Louis before you left for France. The latest update-the Cardinals are bad. I went to 3 games in the last week and we lost all three. However, one bright spot was a little over a week ago we won 18-3 including 26hits which is the most the Cards have done in a game since 1930. It is hot here today-96 degrees and humid. We took Jacob fishing for the first time yesterday-no catches, but we will try again. We will check back soon and keep posting pictures.

Hey Han! I could use some French lessons from you and Daphne. I have settled on speaking Spanish with one French guy I work with. The producer is focused on high quality, small lot, 100 year old vines, native yeast, cofermentatons...

Mike and Amy - Thanks for the Cards update, there is always a chance at the wildcard?
